
Expecting a baby
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Whether you've just found out you're having a baby, or are a little further along, this section will help you understand more about:
- your choice between gynaecologist-led and midwife-led care for pregnancy and birth, as well as other people who may be looking after you
- tests and checks you'll likely be offered by your care provider during pregnancy
- where you can give birth, including information about choosing a hospital if you want to have your baby in a hospital setting

- types of leave you (and your partner) may be entitled to take around the birth, including materity leave, co-parent leave, adoption leave, as well as leave you might choose to take later, such as parental leave and career break
- allowances and other benefits you may be entitled to, such as the birth allowance, adoption allowance, family allowance, and bonuses from your mutuelle
- keeping fit during pregnancy through dedicated prenatal fitness classes, prenatal yoga, and more
- losing a baby through miscarriage, or stillbirth or neonatal death
- ending a pregnancy, for whatever reason
